Most visitors start with time spent in the beautiful and very cool Cathedral - Santa Maria dei Fiore with its massive dome and 500 steps - at the top you have super views over the entire city.
The major art galleries to visit should include Uffizi Gallery which is filled with works of art and masterpieces by the great names of Italy - Raphael, Giotto, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michaelangelo, Rembrant and Caravaggio plus many others - you will simply be overwhelmed by the amazing energy and genius you feel here.
Take a stroll along River Arno which runs through the centre of the city and be sure to take a walk over Ponte Vecchio - filled with fine jewellers and goldsmiths and super views over the river and city.
On the other side you are treated to yet more art and culture with a visit to Boboli Gardens which surround the Palace of Pitti - built for the Medici Family. Sculptures surround you, finely landscaped gardens, hedges that works of art in themselves, ponds and fountains where light, water and air all mingle in a magical mystery. Inside the palace yet more works of art by great masters.
Visits to the Theatres in the evening are a perfect way to end the day - Teatro Verdi on Via Ghibellina or Theatro Communale close to Piazza Vittorio Veneto.
