The favourite of course is St Marks Square where you can stroll, mingle with the crowds and enjoy a visit to the Basilica which dates back to 829. Its quite a magical place with five arched doorways and a long terrace where you will find four bronze horses. Interior design is awesome with marble flooring, mosaics and the story of the New Testament on the walls.
The other major site is Rialto Bridge where you will also find a number of shops and jewellers. Mercerie is the main shopping arena and this is the place for those expensive treats - Gucci, Rolex and Cartier to name but a few. Fine fashion stores and beautiful boutiques.
Take a trip around the Jewish Quarter where you can visit no less than 5 synagogues of various heritage.
Take pleasure in the gastronomic delights - visit the cake shops - deliciously naughty!
Souvenirs should include some Murano glass ware, perhaps a Mask similar to those worn in the Venice Mardi Gras and what about a straw hat.
