Pay St Marks Square a visit - this is one of the major attractions and of course to say you had one of those rather expensive coffees. Walk over the Rialto Bridge and enjoy the shopping with glass ware and fine displays of Murano designs - beads, ornaments, pendants, beautiful vases and many unusual creations to take home. Souvenirs also include the Venetian Masks that are worn during the Mardi Gras Festival that takes place every February.

Mercerie is the main shopping arena and leads off St Marks Square - the jewellers along here are where you will find Cartier, Rolex and the high fashion parade.

Take a Gondola in the evening and be charmed by the city at night with its lights, watery ways and amazing architecture. Visit one of the many restaurants and delight in some of the delicacies - fish, salads, Polenta, Sardee in Saor and numerous pasta dishes. Complete with fine wines and the best company - perfect!
