A great price for rooms is available with fabulous views of the surrounding countryside and the Towers of the town of San Gimignano up on the hill. Be made to feel like a visiting friend when you stay.

This quaint old inn type bed and breakfast hotel is in a superb setting 3.5km to the South-East of San Gimignano, You get a great vista of the surrounding rolling hills, vineyards and olive groves that the Tuscan countryside is renown for from here. Located 600m up a quiet dirt track off of the main road into the town, there is natural peace and quiet all around you.

Rooms here are decorated with a rustic Tuscan charm. All are very clean and exceptionally comfortable. While here you are welcome to have a bath in the swimming pool and make god use of the lovely sunshine to enhance your tan. As you do so you can take in the lovely view of the town on the hill from here.

Staff are very friendly and welcoming. We believe all of our staying guests should be made to feel like that have been invited to a house in the country by friends while they stay.

This is the perfect place to be your base when you are wanting to discover Tuscany and the Chianti region. There is also good access to public transport on the main road, so you can use the busses to explore.

We have Castelvecchio Nature Reserve just 7km West of the house. This and the lovely forests within as well as other surrounding features are super for those who like hiking. Come and enjoy it all with us. our aim is for you to feel totally at home when staying here.

Good stuff: Hotel in very peaceful surroundings with good views. Nice loungers to sit on for a lazy reading afternoon. Host at hotel very welcoming, friendly and helpful in suggesting places to visit, tours by car, and walks. Fresh towels whenever they were required.

Bad stuff: A buffet breakfast was served in the kitchen. However only very small portions of jam, meat, cheese, milk, fruit juice etc was put out. The host baked his own bread which was 1 small loaf for 6 guests. For 2 days there were only 4 guests and on the second day the loaf was the remains from the previous day. I was appalled to see the host's assistant washing the breakfast dishes under a running tap with no washing up liquid and just being give a rub with her hand and then left to drain and after a few minutes placed back on the shelf ready for the next day. The bed had a top sheet covered with a lined beadspread which had a number of dirty marks on it which had clearly been there for some time there were no blankets. The directions to find the property were easy to follow but it was not mentioned that for the most of the way the road was nothing more than a track. We were shown a shorter route but this was gravelled and very steep in places. Neither route was particularly car friendly.

Overall: The views were lovely and it was very peaceful and the host was extremely welcoming but at 120 euros for bed and breakfast for 2 people it did not represent good value.
