Take your time over breakfast and decide on the sites you would like to see during the day ahead - there's a lot to take in but much of it is centred closely to each other - squares and palaces, gardens and parks, heritage sites and an amazing and intense collection of art work that will astound you.
Start off in the middle - Piazza del Duomo and visit this amazing masterpiece - it is most famous for its dome and the 500 steps which lead up to the top - here you are rewarded with fabulous views across the whole of Florence. Take a stroll to the nearby Bargello Museum which is filled with amazing art work by some of the greatest names in history - Michelangelo, Cellini, Brunelleschi, Donatello - to name but a few.
On to PIazza Santa Croce and then across to the Uffizi Gallery which is the most famous and most popular art gallery - here there is a mass of masterpieces and amazing art work.
Time for a coffee break or a long cool drink in the shade before you continue with the second half.......
