Where do you start - perhaps a visit to the Vatican - the city within the city - has its own spiritual and political rule and one of the richest and extensive museum collections in the world. Pay homage to the Sistine Chapel. The Colosseum is a breathtaking sight found over on Palatine Hill - it was built by the Emperors of the Flavian Dynasty. Churches are in abundance here but the most important is the Basilica of St Peter with influences from Michaelangelo, Bramante and Bernini. On to Borghese Gardens where you can view still more work from Bernini with his statues - beautiful.
Now for some modern delights - shopping - there is an abundance of shopping centres and exclusive gift shops here - be sure to get that all important Montblanc Pen and other exclusive gifts along Via Veneto - and take the time to stop for a coffee in one of the trendy cafe bars - you may spot an artist, writer or actor along here.
