Guests Name: Wendy Guest was travelling as: Young couple
Good stuff: Beautiful accommodation, from the light, bright airy bedrooms and spacious bathrooms to the wonderful terrace where breakfast is served.
Bad stuff: More pillows, and perhaps to have tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms? ...Other than that I can't think of anything, it was all great!
Overall: We arrived at around 10.30 am and expected to leave our luggage and come back to check in in the afternoon. This wasn't the case though, we were very warmly welcomed and offered coffee on the terrace while our room was prepared and were able to check in about half an hour later which was VERY welcome as we had been travelling since about 2am and had not slept!! This meant that we were able to have a siesta and then go out in the evening to enjoy our first evening in Rome. In the morning, after a lovely continental breakfast on the sun-drenched terrace we educated about how to catch a bus in Rome and off we went... buses in Rome are not like in England!! You have to buy a ticket from a newstand at the side of the road and then put it into a machine on the bus to validate it. If you are staying for a few days you can then buy a ticket from a machine at the metro station to last several days for the bus, metro and train combined. We were very grateful for having all of this explained to us as I think we would have walked everywhere otherwise....we didn't want to get on the wrong side of all those policemen wandering around with guns....another thing we weren't used to!! We came back to the hotel each night after our sightseeing to find our room spotlessly clean, beds made and even our clothes folded for us....if only that happened at home LOL! We were then able to relax on the terrace with a bottle of wine and watch the sunset, fantastic. You hear the odd dog barking but you get that anywhere! You could hear the planes overhead if you were sitting outside too, but they seemed to stop quite early and once you were in the building you could not hear them at all. Other than that it was very quiet and restful, a very nice, peaceful, residential area. We had another nice surprise halfway through our stay when we were upgraded to a larger room with en-suite (the bathroom in the other one was only across the hallway and was only for our use). Not all of the rooms have a safety deposit box, but it is no problem to leave valuables in the safe in reception. Only one person has access to this so it is a good idea to think ahead for the day in case they are not available later on, but this is all explained to you. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, the staff were more than happy to help with anything we needed and we would definitely return again. (And have already recommended it to all of our friends) Next time we will take advantage of their airport pick-up service though after getting ripped off by the local taxi drivers (and a dodgy bloke who we thought was a taxi driver till we got to his car!) to and from the airport!!
